
Salvador Kent is an aspiring Writer and Director. His debut play, The General Will, was first developed at Worcester Fringe 2024. A new version was premiered at Edinburgh Fringe 2025 (☆☆☆☆ “A Gut Punch Explosion of Theatre”, Jake Mace, Binge Fringe.) (☆☆☆☆☆, “Astounding Allegorical Clowning”, Madeleine Morgan, EdFringe Review).
Directing includes Marx & Engels by Alexander Artis, at the Scottish Storytelling Centre for Gateway Writing Festival 2024 and for a limited run at PBH Free Fringe 2025. Assistant Directing includes Escorial, dir. Gustavo Ramos for the Peruvian Alianza Francesa’s “Escalas” Festival 2024 and Romeo & Juliet, dir. Owen Harper for Worcester Rep in 2023.
Whilst studying Religious Studies and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, his directing has included a sell-out production of El Público by Federico Garcia Lorca (Bedlam Theatre, March 2025) (☆☆☆☆☆, “Throughout-Laden Spectacle”, The Student). & the new play Shoebox’d by Lola Rose Wood (Msc Playwriting) (Bedfest, Bedlam Theatre, Feb 2025).
He has written about theatre for All Edinburgh Theatre, and The Student.
His poetry has been published in Outcrop Magazine.
Previous focuses include clown, surrealism, lecture theatre, farce, mask, and epic. All of his work is underpinned by a search for technical and theoretical rigour.
